Activities of judges and student judges in independent associations from 01.01.2026<\/strong><\/h6>\n

There was a lot of discussion about the announced decision of the board because of the restriction of shows at independent associations for the activities of judges and student judges.<\/p>\n

After consultation with our lawyer, it is permissible for the board to limit participation in exhibitions to two external (free associations) participations per year.<\/p>\n

The restriction to two external participations does not constitute an impermissible restriction of the freedom of occupation as a judge, as it is based on voluntary membership and association self-commitment.<\/p>\n

If a WCF judge performs more than 2 external assignments per year without the approval of the chairman of the Judges’ Commission, this can lead to a Disciplinary procedure.<\/p>\n

All organizations that are members of the WCC are not affected. So it is still allowed to judge at TICA, FiFe, CFA, etc. without permission.<\/p>\n

Changes to WCF BEST CAT rules from January 01, 2026<\/strong><\/h6>\n

As of January 1st, 2026, the Board, together with the Best Cat support team, have rewritten the rules.

The title points in the traditional judging and the points for the participation in the WCF rings have been changed,
furthermore there are changes (Jubilee Shows) and deletions (e.g. island shows) in the bonus points.

From January 1st, 2026 you will find the new valid conditions of participation and
the new point system on the Best Cat and WCF websites.<\/p>\n

Dear members,

in November 2024, Royal Canin took a significant step forward in advocating for the health and welfare of pets by forming the Choose Health coalition. This initiative brings together a select group of organizations, including the World Cat Congress (WCC), the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration Cynologique Internationale (FCI), FOUR PAWS, the ICECDogs (International Collaborative on Extreme Conformations in Dogs), the Royal Veterinary College (RVC), and the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA).

These key organizations are already actively engaged in addressing critical issues related to low welfare pet production practices and extreme conformation. Through the Choose Health coalition, we aim to leverage the collective knowledge, experience, and activities of our members to create a cohesive program that drives meaningful change for pet health and welfare, as well as the related ecosystem.

By working together, we believe we can make a substantial impact on the future of pet health and create an environment where every cat and dog can thrive.

With deep sorrow, we announce that Tamara Vladimirovna Gulyanskaya passed away on 16 October 2025 at the age of almost 85.
She was the former president of the Moscow WCF Club Cat Info and a long-time WCF judge.
Tamara Vladimirovna was a kind and warm-hearted person, open and generous to everyone around her. She devoted many years of her life to the work she loved – felinology. As an experienced professional and true cat expert, she united breeders and enthusiasts in her club, helping people and animals, sharing her knowledge, and supporting those taking their first steps on this path.
Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her, work beside her, and learn from her.

It is with great shock to hear of the death of Mr. Krzysztof Wycichowski,
who left us suddenly and unexpectedly at the age of only 54, far too early.
It is with deep sadness that we say goodbye to the president of our WCF club SHK
and highly respected WCF judge.
His sudden death leaves a deep void \u2013 both personally and professionally.
We have lost a sincere friend, a devoted colleague, and a charismatic personality
who will be greatly missed by all of us.<\/p>\n

Supplement to the show rules from August 15, 2025<\/strong><\/h6>\n

The Show Commission has investigated the participation of WCH\/WPR in WCF shows and noticed
that some cats were not eligible to participate in the Honour Class.<\/p>\n

To prevent this, the Board has decided that exhibitors must provide the organizing club with proof of the cat’s WCH\/WPR title.
The exact wording can be found in the Show Rules under D.13 – Titles and Certificates –<\/strong>

This new rule is valid from August 15, 2025.

Updated Judges Rules from August 15, 2025<\/strong><\/h6>\n

In Part G – Additional Qualifications for Judges -point 1 was supplemented-

If a trained judge applies for an additional hair category, he has to work as a student judge at international exhibitions before he can take a further examination. Between the examinations in the hair categories LH – SLH, on the one hand, and SH \u2013 SIA\/ORI, on the other hand, a waiting period of at least 24 months is required.<\/em><\/span>

NEW:<\/strong>
In addition, evidence of judging experience on at least four show weekends or eight one-day shows must be provided.<\/strong>

The updated rule is valid from August 15, 2025.

With deep sadness we had to hear of the death of Marie-Claude Lemaigre,
the former president of the WCF club OFB.
She passed away on July 20 at the age of just 71.

With her the WCF loses a great judge, who worked for the cats and the WCF

With great dismay and deep sorrow we say good bye to an extraordinary woman.<\/p>\n

Marion Meister, who, after a long and serious illness, lost the battle at the age
of 61 – though she never gave up.<\/p>\n

With tireless dedication, great expertise, and a heart full of love for all cats,
she left a lasting mark on the cat world.
As a valued judge, she was recognized far beyond the borders of Germany.<\/p>\n

She was not only a integral part of the WCF club Deutsche Edelkatze e.V.
but also a strong and reliable voice within the World Cat Federation e.V. – organizations to which she contributed decisive impulses with her competence, passion and experience.<\/p>\n

Her work, her commitment, and her unwavering faith in the good
will be greatly missed.
She was a pioneer, a supporter, and a friend.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
