1. Recognition of new breeds

1.1 Pre-Recognition Show

1.2 Request for Pre-recognition Show

A pre-recognition show is required to obtain a new EMS code; the proposed place and date of the show with all documentation is to be sent to the Secretary General one month before the proposed show date.

The following documents are required:

a) Report about the origin, history, genetics and breeding rules of the breed.
b) Proposed standard
c) Pedigrees if applicable
d) Pictures of the cats

1.3 Report from Pre-recognition Show

A report from the Pre-recognition show of 6-10 cats where a Board member or Commission member or a WCF judge appointed by the Judge and Pedigree Commission is present to evaluate and assess the cats with a proposed EMS code.

2. Recognition Show

2.1 Request for Recognition Show

A Recognition Show is required; the proposed place and date of the show with all documentation are to be sent to the Secretary General one month before the proposed show date.

a) Proposed standard
b) Pedigrees
c) The chairman of the Judges- and Pedigrees Registration Commission will announce two judges from the Judges Commission, who will participate in the Recognition show.

2.2 Submission of required documents to the JC

The club must present at least 15 cats to both judges in the Recognition show. The cats presented must have complete pedigrees of 4 generations and at least 7 of these pedigrees must show 3 generations of pure breed. Judges reports must be written for each cat.

2.3 Report about the Recognition Show

The judges involved will evaluate the cats by written report with the judge reports to the chairman of the judges’ commission not later than one month after the Recognition Show. If necessary, a revised standard will be attached to the report.

2.4 Acknowledgement of the standard and decision of the General Assembly

The final standard will be acknowledged in a meeting of the judges’ commission and will be proposed at the next General Assembly.

3. Recognition of new colour/pattern varieties for already existing breeds

3.1 Pre-recognition Show

3.2 Submission of required documents to the JC

A Pre-recognition Show is required to obtain a new EMS code; the proposed place and date of the show with all documentation are to be sent to the Secretary General one month before the proposed show date.

a) Description of the colour/pattern varieties, or name of the colour/pattern varieties according to the existing list of colour/pattern varieties.
b) Pedigrees if applicable

3.3 Report from the Pre-Recognition Show

A report from the Pre-recognition Show of 6-10 cats where a Board member or Commission member or a WCF judge appointed by the Judges- and Pedigree Commission is present to evaluate and assess the cats with the proposed EMS code.

4. Recognition Show

4.1 Request for Recognition Show

Necessary documents for full recognition: The applying club may send the following documents to the Secretary General to be forwarded to the chairman of the judges’ commission one month before the proposed show place and date:

a) Report about the origin, history, genetics and breeding rules of the colour/pattern varieties
b) Description of the colour/pattern varieties, or name of the colour/pattern varieties according to the existing list of colour/pattern varieties
c) Pedigrees if applicable
d) Pictures of the cats, where the colour/pattern varieties can be clearly seen.

4.2 Requirements for the Recognition Show

The chairman of the Judges- and Pedigree Registration Commission will announce two WCF judges, who will participate in the Recognition Show, at least one of them from the Judges’ Commission. The club has to present at least 15 cats to both judges in the Recognition Show, the cats presented must have complete pedigrees with 4 generations.

4.3 Report from the Recognition Show

The judges involved will evaluate the cats in a written report and will send their report to the chairman of the judges’ commission not later than one month after the Recognition Show. If necessary, a revised description of the colour/pattern varieties will be attached to their report.

4.4 Acknowledgement of the description of the colour/pattern varieties

The final description of the colour/pattern varieties will be acknowledged in a meeting of the judges’ commission and will be proposed to the next General Assembly for voting upon it.
